Screaming kittywake

On the same cliff face as the two kittywake chicks that I showed you a few days ago, here is an adult bird starting a screaming fit right after the little ones shut up. I was amazed at the size and color of their tongue. I just didn't think they would have that noticeable of a tongue at all.

The photos are cropped to an upright format from the original cross format, because I wanted to emphasise the birds and therefore took the same clip out of two photos that in their full extension are shifted a bit to the side and up from each other. I was working free hand and did not plan to match the shots to each other but just to get the best possible out of that situation.
