Pierced

When walking down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland, in summer 2013 I took a glance at this street vendor. She is the most pierced person I ever saw.

Scary Place

Edinburgh is full of scary places and all those ghost infused places and stories. But this here is a real life person that was walking into a bar. It was broad daylight and I do not even want to start to understand what was going on or why.

Anyways he was entering the "Frankenstein"  pub and I do think that also in there, people were scared then.

Static Chase

I do not know what the figures represent. They were set up on a long metal band in a church in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Castle

This is a view of the castle in Edinburgh - seen from in the yard itself - and down from the castle over the city.

Spring 2013.

A Scotish Castle

This castle in Scotland (Dunottar Castle) explains all of the old tales, really. Too bad that it was closed when we got there. The possible entrance was a smal door along the cliff side and as unspectacular as you would never expect a castle door. A fitting portal for this "cliff clinger".

Scotland in the fog

Is it always foggy in Scotland? I do not think so. We went to Edinburgh and the Highlands in February so we could not really expect any weather to be provided.

This is from the Highlands, somewhere near Rannoch Moor, a place we will definitely have to come back to, since we did not get to hike across the moor itself.

Scotland

It was a cold week in February 2009, but 6 days in Scotland brought lots of photo ops and cool scenery. No gosts, though.  But we did keep looking.

The pictures are HDRs from different parts of the trip.

A loch in northern Scotland on the way through the Higlands.

The old boat that was rotting away in the water made me pull over and jump out of the car. The contrast of old and new boats in and out of water made this picture one of my favorites of that location.

We started the tour from Edinburgh up the east coast. This is where we found the abbey ruins and the harbour shed.

Church Edinburgh, Scotland, 2009

In this Edinburgh church admission was free but you had to pay for a photography permit if you wanted to take pictures. The cost was about 2,- € per Person. After looking around you know if you want to pay for that or not. One big advantage was, that you could set up the tripod and everything and take your time without being chased away.
