The Little Boat

Alone in the bay, between all the rocks, there was this little boat, tied up. It looked pretty beat up and old, but it was just fitting where it was.

Lofoten View -  dramatic clouds make the impression just right.

This is how strongly the water streams between the island with the changing of the tides.

The Smith in the Bay

On the Lofoten we followed the directions to the smith in the bay. This is a sculpture he made and that is on display infront of the bay. It looked awesome in the counterlight of the late afternoon.

Houses on the Bay

This is a typical view of the Lofoten. This is near Reine.

The sun shoots in

In the strange light scenarios you get in northern teritorries can make the light very visible.

The mountain lake

This small lake above Reine seems to be used for drinking water. We hiked up that hillface to get a good view of the bay and ended at the edge of this lake.

On the southern tip of the main Lofoten there is the village A i Lofoten. This is a picturesque little settlement that is partially a walk through museum with some life businesses.

Fishing for Dinner

It is really easy and effective to go out and catch your dinner at the edge of the ocean.

When night falls

The Lofoten have a mostly rocky shore that is reaching out into the ocean. The awesome cloud cover is what I love about this image.

The Dome is not in Cologne

This is the dome of Cologne. Built from matches. Indeed... with all the details. It was on display on Intermodellbau in Dortmund this weekend.

Fish Can Installation

This installation in a can of fish is somewhat contradictory. The can had contained Rügenfisch, therefore refering to a baltic sea island and preserved fish. The sign on the building says that there is fresh fish from the north sea sold. So is this contradiction made on purpose or did it just happen? Anyways I thought the model building was really cute in presentation.

The Pixeling Contest

Ich habe an einem Pixelcontest teilgenommen und ein anderes Teammitglied bekam dieses Bild als Stock. Ich dachte, damit könnte man toll arbeiten und habe dieses Bild daraus erstellt. Ihm liegt das unten verlinkte Bild von Jamari Lior zugrunde. Alle übrigen verwendeten Bilder sind meine eigenen Fotos.

Hier ist mein Ergebnis.

I was taking part in this pixeling contest and another team member got this image as a stock. I thought it would be awesome to try to work with this myself and therefore made this composing using this stock image by Jamari Lior. All the other images used are from my own photography.

Intermodellbau

We spend the afternoon at the Intermodellbau in Dortmund. Everything from steam locomotion to laser cutting and 3D printing. From bi-planes to camera drones.

I had a field day, checking out the displays, all the H0 scale people objects and all the models of boats, plains, spaceships and so on.

I shot a lot of images for my sketches and my project. Lots of angles and motives.

Old Architecture

This is a church from Portugal that - crammed into a little corner - was surely looking more regal and more exposed in former times. Now the city has taken it in entirely.

Pixel Contest and Tex Mex

I entered into a pixeling contest on www.psd-tutorials.de this month. I was given a stock image (together with 3 other pixlers from the other teams) and we had to incorporate that into our own image. The stock was the bell tower. I only came in 3rd place in the ananymous voting. But nonetheless I really like my image. What I am also proud about is that my image is consisting of my own photography only, except for the given stock image.

Ich habe mich diesen Monat an einem Pixel-Contest auf www.psd-tutorials.de beteiligt. Mir - und den 3 anderen Pixlern der anderen Teams - wurde ein Stock gegeben. Der Stock war der Glockenturm. Ich habe zwar nur den dritten Platz belegt, aber ich bin nichts desto trotz stolz auf mein Bild. Worauf ich auch stolz bin, ist dass mein Bild - abgesehen vom vorgegebenen Stock - nur aus eigenen Aufnahmen besteht.

A Flower in the Wood

This is the back of a bench at La Couffe in Belgium. Very nice way to make use of the natural structure of the wood. There were several benches like this.
