I did show a bunch of Lofoten images lately. This is one of the iconc red boat houses by the sea on Tjeldsund. Not technically Lofoten, but Vesteralen.

This is the little lighthouse beneath the tjeldsund bru on the edge of the island chain that leads down to the Lofoten.

Christmas is coming

Since christmas is closely related to reindeers here are some of the guys we found hiding in the bushes on the Lofoten, this summer.

Da Rentiere mit Weihnachten eng verbunden sind, habe ich hier ein paar Bilder von den Tieren, die wir auf den Loften gefunden haben, als sie durch die Büsche streiften.

The Wagtail

This little white wagtail had gotten in trouble by getting stuck in the campground's kitchen. My husband rescued the little one and we set it free. It was hanging around our cabin for a very long time after that.

This water just has this amazingly intense color that we found in many places on the Lofoten.

Even in the most rainy of mornings, the water is still sparkeling.

These skies were impressive, especially with the intense colors that the light creates on wet land.

Here is an image on a rainy morning - the one that yesterdays picture is from. The turquoise water is still there, even in the foggy weather.

This wooden church is positions near Leknes, Lofoten. It is a classic Norwegian church under wonderful blue skies with just enough clouds to present it.

I just love old school advertising signs. These ones I found in the historic shop in Nusfjord, Lofoten.

The weather changes

On our Lofoten-Trip we played a lot with time lapse photography. I am processing the images more and more and I want to give you a sneak preview.

The weather was everchanging. And this little sequence tells you just how much. The sequence does just reach the real time of 45 minutes on the evening of the 21st of August 2013, 20:15 to 21:03.

The perfect boat

I came by this boat a few times. This one struck me as especially nice. Maybe you understand.

None of my photos really tells me that I got it just right. I mean, they are great, but the feeling of being there, next to the pond between the fjords, made this boat be different in a way.

Close enough, I guess.

Wunsch-Idee

Während Weihnachten uns näher rückt, weist jeder auf mögliche Geschenkideen hin. Ich mache es heute mal anders und weise auf eine Wunsch-Idee hin.

Inside the Museum

In Å i Lofoten we visited the dried fish museum.

This is some of the interior on the upstairs. The museum gives great information and shows a documentary of how fishing and fish drying used to be on the Lofoten and how things changed.

The Rorbuer

The Lofoten are known for the red fishermen's houses, the Rorbuer.

This is the view from the one we rented over to other of these houses. This is near the southern end of the Lofoten.

Field of fog

I should really start posting something else than fog images, I know. But we had about a week of foggy mornings and days now and I really love the special look that fall takes on when the fog gets added in.
