reflective beach

We did go to Sankt Peter Ording for a day... 

it had been raining hard and the water was just receding. This made the beach super reflective.

Wir sind für einen Tag nach Sankt Peter Ording gefahren.

Es hatte stark geregnet und das Wasser ging gerade zurück. So war der Strand sehr spiegelnd.

We have been taking more walks again, lately. It has been nice to be out and see the surrounding area. Sunsets are nicely late, at the moment, and so we get to enjoy sunset somewhere in the fields.

I took this panorama with my cell phone so it does not stand up to dslr quality I prefer to post, but it is pretty decent, I think.

Even though I am - unfortunately - lacking the time to be out a lot, I enjoy summer. This image of wind swept corn at sunset I took a week ago on an evening hike.

5 years of blogging

5 years ago this was the day I started this blog. Not all that long after I adopted the daily blogging thing. Sometimes it is really hard to come up with original content for the blog. After all I don't just want to bore you with more and more of the same vacation or location over and over. So I try to keep it varied.
I did not find quite as much time lately as I did in the past and therefore the articles have gotten short. I really want to upgrade again and write more on the topics. On the other hand you just don't want me babbeling a lot about a certain image when there is little to say.

Merry Christmas

I think, light breaking out from the clouds is a great image to share for today.

A gull at sunset

Even sea gulls stare into a sunset like this. Well, I do assume that it may have been staring at the water that was rushing in from the ocean to fill the bay of St Michel, waiting for fish.

Dreamy Light

One morning, about 2 weeks ago, I had to stop on my way to my work of the day, just to take this image here. The morning sun was pretty high already but the beams of light caught in the fog really pretty.

We have taken a tour through Brittany. This farmhouse in the beaming evening sun we found near Mont St. Michel.

The Monastery

Ontop of Mont St. Michel there is the actual monastery that we payed a visit to. This is the main church in the morning sun.

Golden Sunset

Evening Mood

This is a moment to remember. This photo was taken up on the wall of Mont St. Michel at sunset. I was trying to get more than one raying highlight from the sun. With the tidal flats below us, this was working out when I found the propper place.

I found this door to a very slim building. The evening sun was behind the building and was shining through the door.

Evening Sun on the Mountain

The Mont St. Michel at sunset - this over shooting of sunlight into the lens was not that easy to adjust and to find the right spot and moment. I do love lense flare, but not if it falls onto unfitting parts of the image. But gladly I got my shot.
