unicorn cow

I have never before seen a unicorn cow.

I know it was just an advertisement for a burger place - but the cow was cute and the burgers were good.

The Golden Ceiling

Here is the most straight and well lit image that I managed of the ceiling of the golden hall in the city hall of Augsburg.

I used my 10 mm wide angle on my crop factor camera and got the camera pretty low to the floor. There was a chair setup in the room so I could get no lower than the seats without catching the chairs in the hall. But it was just enough.

Illusion Painting

There is a long tradition of illusion painting: pretending there is 3D building elements or pieces of art where there is just a flat wall. This illusion element is part of the decorations in the golden hall of the city hall of Augsburg.

Found on Lofoten. One of the many street art items that we saw. This kind of street art is really nice and interesting.

Static Chase

I do not know what the figures represent. They were set up on a long metal band in a church in Edinburgh.

Arts Excursion

In summer 2013 we visited De Hoge Veulve in the Neatherlands and went to the arts exhibt there. Some pieces around the park were worthy of a picture.

Garajau - Portugese Statues

In the last days we see the statue in Rio De Janeiro a lot. Of course, since the world cup keeps ruling the news. But did you know that these statues, alike not the same, can also be found in other places?

One of them I found in Lisbon, Portugal, and another one we found in Garajau, a coastal town on Madeira near Funchal.

The Smith in the Bay

On the Lofoten we followed the directions to the smith in the bay. This is a sculpture he made and that is on display infront of the bay. It looked awesome in the counterlight of the late afternoon.

Fish Can Installation

This installation in a can of fish is somewhat contradictory. The can had contained Rügenfisch, therefore refering to a baltic sea island and preserved fish. The sign on the building says that there is fresh fish from the north sea sold. So is this contradiction made on purpose or did it just happen? Anyways I thought the model building was really cute in presentation.

The Pixeling Contest

I was taking part in this pixeling contest and another team member got this image as a stock. I thought it would be awesome to try to work with this myself and therefore made this composing using this stock image by Jamari Lior. All the other images used are from my own photography.

Restored image

A friend lately send me a scan of an old and battered photo. It shows her great-great grandfather and she was wondering, if there was a chance to make it look any better.

I took it into Photoshop and started from the face outward. I used the clone stamp in a very small diameter and worked on one light spot at a time. Some areas I worked on with colored brushes, photoshop filters and With several hours of work by hand I made the image resurface and was pleasantly surprised about the outcome.

Fortunately the face of the person had been mostly intact to beginn with. No really important information was missing.

Thanks for allowing me to show this image.

Paintings of another Type

In several places around Lofoten and Vesteralen we found images of this type on the most odd places around buildings. I bet we missed a lot of them, especially some that I had seen online before we went there. But I thought they were really neat.

Blurry but too cute

yes, image quality is questionable here, but this squirrel is just fast. The picture was too cute, though, to not show it. It has flair, though, right?

The Couple

There is an exhibit called "Alltagsmenschen" ("Everyday People") that consists of these statues of people a little larger than life, muted colors, mostly. The statues are made by Christel Lechner.
