We have been taking more walks again, lately. It has been nice to be out and see the surrounding area. Sunsets are nicely late, at the moment, and so we get to enjoy sunset somewhere in the fields.

I took this panorama with my cell phone so it does not stand up to dslr quality I prefer to post, but it is pretty decent, I think.

Landscape with an industrial touch

In the far you see a powe plant blowing up steam from the cooling towers.
The landscape in the front would not make you expect this power plant. But the steam Clouds almost every day make it very noticable.

By the lake shore

The lake was quite but for the birds. I know that there are pretty much endless amounts of carp in there, but they did not make themselves known. This place is the swimming location in the summer. But on this coldish winterday it was quiet and empty.

Leading Line

This is a side arm of the breakwater in Friedrichskoog Spitze, Northern Germany.

flowing tides

Here you can see the ocean Tide come in and flow downhill. The breakwater and water management system have created this ridge that is just below the surface.

gridded sea

The fences are meant to keep the sand in place and make them build up. As you can see it is working. The whimbrel is using this beautiful habitat.

Twilight

The same tree as yesterday, photographed and processed with slightly different settings. This one is a more hopeful image, less doomed. Maybe less of a nightmare reminder.

Twisted

This tree was just marvelous. The twistedness of it reminds me of "nightmare before christmas".

Twiggy

The branches against the winter sky made the image look gloomy but also hopeful in my eyes.

Tangled

What a tangled mess of branches. I love how they stretch out over the lake here. Look close. You might be able to make out shapes, creatures and faces in between.

Duck Pond

On this murky day, the ducks were faint in the distance. Still I could capture them pretty sharply.

Nature's soundwave

The way this lake side rendered on the camera it reminds me of a sound wave. Here a solid, somewhat vibrating sound becomes louder. First gradually then intensely.

Funnily enough the water is all free of waves. That is why the visual sound wave becomes double hight, too.

Brewing weather

I love clouds. Did I mention? Well, I guess a 100 times, already. But when they come chasing you and you are about a mile out in the ocean on a break water... Well, then you want them to stay up where they are.

Reflected

prefectly reflected sunset behind the clouds. I was impressed how the reflection was brighter than the actual sky.

Searching for the horizon

Grafic lines that fail to separate the horizon line. Interesting geometry that started happening in that location - and was suddenly gone again.
