In Illugastaðir on Vatnsnes, Northern Iceland, we went for a little hike to see the seals on the coast line. The birds along the way were amazing, though, so here is a first view on the black guillemots.
These two guys were sitting on the edge of the remains of a house down by the waterside and made a pretty motive, I think.
I included some pics of one guillemot alone and a few of them swimming in the bay.
In Illugastaðir auf Vatnsnes, Nord-Island, sind wir zu den Seehunden vor der Küste gewandert. Auf dem Weg dahin haben wir die Vögel bewundert. Hier ist also ein erster Blick auf "black guillemots", auf Deutsch Gryllteiste (Cepphus grylle).
Diese beiden Kandidaten saßen auf der Ecke der Reste eines Hauses an der Wasserkante und waren ein hübsches Motiv.
Ich habe noch Bilder von einem einzigen Guillemot und ein paar in der Bucht dazugegeben.
