Spiekeroog

On Spiekeroog, an island in the North Sea at the German coast, I took these pictures a few years ago. The pictures were all taken with our basic simple cameras. They show different work processes in Photoshop therefore the look is very different. None of them is an HDR.

The island is free of cars. The village is great for vacation time and looks very nice and cosy.

In the old days the harbour was at a place relatively far from the village and they built a train there. The old pier is not in use anymore since there is a new harbour at the other side of the island now. The remains still look cool, though.

The old sea rescue station. When the land was stretching further and further out into the bay and turned into marshland it did not make sense anymore to launch boats from this place. It now is used for the equippement of the Iceland horse farm of the island.
