Reindeer

In East Iceland reindeers are everywhere. As we read and hear. But we did not get to see any of them during the days we stayed there.

We learned that it was due to the very warm weather that the deers were retreated high into the mountains.

Asking a warden at the sleeping bag quaters at Snaefell mountain where and when to find them she told me: "They look a lot like rocks. When you see rocks move out there you can wonder if it is a reindeer."

Icelandic humor.

Near that range we found this reindeer monument so at least I can show you a photo or two with this post.
