Cheering on the cranes

I never noticed that the statue of liberty has the same pose as the cranes in the harbour area of New York. It looked to me as if she was cheering them on.

I really liked the view from the Brooklyn Bridge. Winter time in NYC leads to a pretty color in the sky, unfortunately also to relatively hazy conditions.

Mir ist noch nie aufgefallen, dass die Freiheitsstatue die gleiche Pose hat wie die Kräne im Hafengebiet von New York. Es sah fast so aus, als würde sie sie anfeuern.

Ich mag den Blick von der Brooklyn Bridge. In NYC führt das Winterlicht oft zu schön getöntem Himmel, leider sorgt es auch für recht diesige Bedingungen mitten am Tag.

Usually, when going to New York, I take the Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island and back, just for a good view of the skyline. This time I did not take this option, because we were lacking time. Instead we did something else and went for a new experience: We walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge. So I get a different view, but still I can show you the Staten Island Ferry: I just had to wait until it was in view in this photo. Also a river cruise boat passes the Statue of Liberty - and a maintenance boat is at work. Even the water in NYC doesn't ever sleep.

Normalerweise nehme ich die Staten Island Ferry von Manhattan nach Staten Island und zurück, wenn ich in NYC bin, nur um einen guten Blick auf die Skyline zu bekommen. Dieses Mal haben wir diese Möglichkeit nicht genutzt, sind aber statt dessen von Brooklyn nach Manhattan über die Brooklyn Bridge gelaufen. Auf diesem Weg haben wir einmal eine anderen Blickwinkel bekommen. Trotzdem kann ich Euch die Staten Island Ferry zeigen. Ich musste für dieses Photo einfach warten, bis sie im Bild ist. Außerdem ist da noch eines der Flusskreuzfahrtboote, das an der Freiheitsstatue vorbeifährt, und ein Arbeitsschiff. Nicht einmal das Wasser schläft in NYC.
