BARK

On December 31st we met friends in Brooklyn for brunch at a place called Bark. We got there early. While waiting for them, I took my chance to observe a situation for a while that was totally cute to look at.

Yes, it got cuter because the place was called bark.

Having been in there - we had egg muffins - I understand the longing this dog was feeling.

Am 31. Dezember haben wir Freunde in Brooklyn zum Brunch getroffen, in einem Restaurant namens "Bark". Wir waren früh da. Während wir auf unsere Freunde gewartet haben, konnte ich eine Weile lang eine Situation beobachen, die einfach unglaublich süß war. Ja, es wurde niedlicher, weil der Laden "Bark" heißt.

Nachdem wir dort gegessen haben - Egg Muffins - verstehe ich die Sehensucht, die dieser kleine Hund gefühlt hat.

... but no, it is a lot smaller and shorter. This is Lisbon and the Tejo, not San Fransico and the bay. But the look alike is not a coincidence, I guess.

Before this trip I did not know that there were eucalyptus trees in Portugal. We did end up in this foggy mountain top forrest, though, smelling wonderful. I did keep expecting a gorrila to step out from between the trees. But we remained without encounters.

Coimbra studens

In Coimbra, Portugal, a very old and traditional university, we got to witness the graduation of one class, setting up for photos and waiting for an event. The outfits, especially the black cloaks are traditional school outfit.
