We have taken a tour through Brittany. This farmhouse in the beaming evening sun we found near Mont St. Michel.

The Côte Granit Rose has a wonderful hiking path along the rock formations that we used for a bit. It leads just by the interesting rock formations so you get to explore them from different sides.

The tower at the corner

Saint-Malo, a very tight corner and an odd building on the corner of the street.

Downtown Saint-Malo

The tight streets and high buildings of Saint-Malo tell its riches in the old days. The city was the most famous place for ship's captains and important people of the ship industry.

Less than heroic

The issue is obvious when you set up a monument for a hero near the sea shore. Then you watch the sea birds flock in. But how else would you celebrate a hero there? 

Steam Punk in Brittany

We found this little steam punk guy in Saint-Malo when we walked by the waterfront. Brilliant weather and blue sky made it all the more note-worthy.

The eternal chase

These horses were running in circles for all their lives. I got them at the finish line. This caroussell was standing right infront of the ville close of Saint-Malo.

Oysters

Here are the oysters in the small market in Cancale. We, of course, got a platter to eat right on the beach.

Of course we got served some Bélon oysters right with the view of the estuary.

We drove through Brittany on a long road trip and on one of the final stages we stopped in Belon to learn about the world famous oysters.

French bakeries just make you hungry. This is my contribution from a bakery I visited in the ville close of Concarneau.

A statue for the cormorant

This statue for the cormorant was sitting by the water side in Concarneau. It is not the first cormorant statue I have seen in fishing towns. Obviously people love this bird in many places.

Fish

I do not know why there were fish chosen for decoration in this church in Brittany. But I thought they were pretty impressive.

The Côte Granit Rose is a really amazing and very diverse.

Secret Model

I found this secret new model on a field nearby. I am not quite sure what kind of animal this is since it was wearing a face mask but zebra is on the list of options, right?

Ein Erlkönig! Ich habe dieses neue Modell auf einer Wiese in der Nähe gefunden. Ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher, was für eine neue Rasse das ist, weil es eine Gesichtsmaske trug, aber ich glaube, Zebra ist nicht ganz fernliegend, oder?

Hindu Temple

We often come by the Hindu Temple. We don't make it to the temple festivities every year but it is worth a closer look on average days as well. Especially after the recent painting it looks amazing.

The lot around this church was pretty and gave the church some space.

I found these wonderful, intricate wooden doors in Brittany on the side building of a church.

The Church of Lampaul

This church made us stop on the drive through town. We got to walk around it in beautiful sunshine and to go inside.

County Roads in Brittany

Like in many rural areas, Brittany has a lot of roads that ly deep beneath the landscape.

Church and Birds

The church towers in northern Brittany were very diverse and changing up in style. What was pretty common with them was the amount of ravens circeling them and landing on them.

The harbour is filled

Here is an image of the harbour of Roscoff with the tide fully in. Do you remember the images I showed a few weeks ago about the empty harbour? Look back in the blog history and see what it looked like just hours before these images here with the bottom of the harbour fully exposed and all the ships on the dry.

The Church of Roscoff

When walking from our hotel to downtown in search of a place for dinner we came by the city church. The towers with the see through building style are really common in the area of Roscoff and seem something like a local specialty.
